Why Good Balance Feels Bad & What Makes a Game Feel Good
I explain why you shouldn't want a truly balanced game at least not in the traditional sense. When a game is "balanced" it is unfair and unenjoyable as it hinders skill expression, requires you to be able to play many characters, and produces a mindset that does not lead to fun and enjoyable games. A game feels good when it is less balanced but instead tries to allow for varied and expressive play style differences.
